Burrows confirmed as medical staff president-elect

The medical staff nominating committee comprising myself as president; Ken Graven, MD, past-president; and Michael Hanslits, MD, past-president, selected Leon Burrows, MD to serve as president-elect. The position was open effective January 2019. After a 30-day confirmation period, he is now the confirmed president-elect.

Dr. Burrows was born in Pullman, WA and later moved to Stillwater, OK. He completed his undergraduate degree at Oklahoma State University in 1991. As an undergraduate, he took two years off from his studies and lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he worked as a missionary.

He graduated from medical school at Washington University School of Medicine in 1995 and completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. He then spent an additional year of training and completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Dr. Burrows joined Salem Radiology Consultants in June of 2000, where he specializes in orthopedic/musculoskeletal radiology. He and his wife, Ingrid, live in Salem and have two children.
