Police toy drive expands to serve more charities

Salem Health is proud to join the Salem Police Department’s annual holiday toy drive, which kicked off Nov. 1. Look for a festive collection box in the departments where you practice on campus, or at West Valley Hospital.

This year, all of Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics will join the drive: West Valley Hospital’s drive will benefit the Polk County Sheriff’s toy drive.

“I’m excited to create a ‘surplus’ of toys so we can help even more toy drives,” said Dr. Thye Schuyler, SHMG toy drive coordinator.

Toy guidelines:

New, unwrapped toys, $10 minimum, all ages, up to 18 years old.
Money donations also appreciated.
To protect toys from theft, collection boxes need to be located in hospital units and departments, rather than public lobbies — although main boxes will be located in the CHEC and at SH Administration.
Final pickup is Dec. 6.
