Brenda is recognized for her numerous contributions to Salem Health. Brenda developed quality and safety initiatives across the system (e.g., time out process, surgical attire consistency, refinement of the sedation policy, on-time surgery starts, and hand hygiene prevalence). She has been instrumental in developing her division through team building and leadership reorganization. Brenda led by example and demonstrated her commitment to our Lean journey by working to implement the Lean culture in Surgical Services. Brenda also fostered a culture which supported staff and physician collaboration in decisions and joint initiatives. As a Willamette Humane Society Board member, she has also been an active member of our community.

Surgical Services is an essential part of the Salem Health organization and the ability to accomplish its mission. Work has begun to identify a replacement VP of Surgical Services.  The new VP of Surgical Services will report to the CNO.

Please take the time to thank Brenda for all she's done for the Surgical Services team and our organization.
