Are you fluent in either Spanish or Russian? Would you like to use your language skills while working with patients here at Salem Health?  Follow these steps:

(If you’re a provider employed by Salem Health Medical Group, contact your department manager and have them submit an application on your behalf.)

Provide the following information to the medical staff office:

  • First and last name
  • Language to be tested
  • Email address and phone number

You will be scheduled for the online Cultural Clinical Linguistic Assessment (CCLA). It will take 30 to 45 minutes. Minimum score needed is 80 percent.

You will have 30 days from the receipt of the email to complete the online assessment. Once our testing agency ALTA Language Services, notifies us of your score, we will let you know if you are cleared to use your language skills while serving in your role here at Salem Health.

Language Access Services is still used for medical interpretation and translation to and from written materials, such as discharge instructions. If this interpretation is needed for patient care, please call Language Access Services at 503-814-0512.

We appreciate your willingness to share your language skills with our patients, visitors, and staff.

The link to the application can found on the HR page under additional resources here.
