Dr. Yangson has shown many times that she is an empathetic, nurturing, kind and humane physician. Recently she had a patient diagnosed with cancer. Both the patient and his family struggled with the new diagnosis as well as advanced directives/overall care plan decisions. Dr. Yangson went above and beyond her calling and successfully encouraged the patient to speak to his long-lost son who was out of town. This provided closure to both patient and his family and gave excellent care to the patient. She was available not only as an excellent clinician, but also as a wonderful human being granting the wishes of the patient and helping them come to terms with the diagnosis. Dr. Yangson, in my opinion, is a true gem!
