On Tuesday, Dec. 19, patients and staff from 6North General Surgery will be relocated to 5South. The 6North location will be named “6North Surge Unit” after General Surgery vacates.
The new space has 37 beds, compared to 46 on 6North, so reducing impact to patient care is a big emphasis.
Please note: Telemetry will not be available in 5South until early next year and will be communicated separately. In the meantime, general surgery patients needing telemetry will be placed on a tele-capable unit. And, bariatric patients will have a surgical nurse assigned to them as appropriate.
