About Salem Health.

Magnet is a national designation that only 7% of hospitals in the nation receive. It is the highest and most prestigious credential a healthcare organization can achieve for nursing excellence and quality patient care. Magnet organizations attract and retain exceptional nursing and interprofessional staff focused on delivering distinguished patient outcomes.

While Salem Health remains vigilant in monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic, we take pride in our Magnet designation as our culture fosters excellent patient care in an environment that focuses on continuous improvement and positive outcomes. As a result, we are moving forward with preparation to host a virtual Magnet site visit for Salem Hospital on May 18, 19 and 20. In the event that our pandemic response warrants undivided attention, we will remain respectful of the COVID-19 situation and can reschedule the virtual visit as necessary.

Achieving and maintaining Magnet status is not easy and is a result of efforts of teams throughout the hospital contributing to improved outcomes for our patients. Magnet designation is about what we do every day, including during times such as these. This site visit is a celebratory opportunity we remain deserving of, more so today than any other.

Please join me in welcoming the ultimate celebration of our accomplishments. Thank you to the Salem Hospital staff for everything they do every day!

Sarah Horn, Chief Nursing Officer
