A new Salem Health lab draw center — in Building C, suite 4000 — opened Thursday, May 23. This location can accommodate a variety of collections, including glucose tolerance testing, H. Pylori breath test and therapeutic phlebotomy. EKG services will also be provided.
Patients using the new location may expect shorter wait times and a more private setting than the lab draw center just off the main lobby in in Building A.
The new draw center has four private draw rooms with staff registering patients as they enter the space. This capacity will allow us to provide phlebotomy services to patients with less waiting. This space includes a secondary waiting room for increased patient comfort and privacy. It provides accommodations for patients who are with us for an extended period of time, like patients having glucose tolerance testing. There is also a draw room set up specifically for pediatric patients.
“It’s important to us to make lab services as convenient as possible,” said lab support services manager Jamie Rouse. “We think adding this second location on the hospital campus is a step forward in achieving that goal.”
