Responding to an event in the community, Salem Health has set up a decontamination tent to receive several patients.

Thursday, Feb. 11— Responding to an event in the community, Salem Health has set up a decontamination tent to receive several patients. There is no information at this time about a possible contaminant. 

Salem Health has decontamination teams that regularly train for dealing with exposure to hazardous substances or contaminants and are prepared for these situations. 

More information will be posted as it becomes available.

UPDATE:

The patients who came through the emergency department have been decontaminated. We are also working with the fire department to decontaminate medics who brought in the patients.
