Shelton Ditch, which runs along the north side of Salem Health's main campus is looking very full after 18 straight days of rain.

In 2012, this creek flooded into the basement of Building C on our campus. That flood also damaged the Winter Street bridge, which is still in the process of being fixed (notice the construction equipment).

This afternoon the water flows increased dramatically, to the point that they are reaching the bottom of the bridge. We are preparing for this weekend’s predicted rain by sandbagging and potentially closing the parking garage under Building C.

We expect that parking under Building C will likely be closed Monday morning, but will reopen as soon as possible. Stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter for updates as they happen!
