Brazier provides speech therapy for adults with disorders that affect speech, language, swallowing, cognition and voice, as well as for children who may have developmental delay.
With a physician referral, Brazier will see patients on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. She brings 30 years of experience to the position and was recognized twice by her last employer, Stormont Vail HealthCare in Topeka, Kansas, for clinical excellence. She specializes in treating adult dysphagia, cerebrovascular disease and head and neck cancers. She also treats vocal cord dysfunction, aphasia and apraxia, dementia, cognitive-linguistic deficits and more.
“There is unmet demand for local speech therapy services in Polk County,” said Sherrill Beck, rehabilitation services supervisor. “Lorraine’s depth of experience is a coup for this community and we are thrilled to have her on board.”
