The West Valley Hospital Foundation announces that 17 students in medically related fields will receive a scholarship for the 2013 to 2014 school year.

A total of $22,000 in scholarships was awarded to Polk County residents pursuing degrees in a variety of programs. 

The Foundation is a charitable organization that supports programs and services at West Valley Hospital.  Its 15 member Board of Directors helps to raise funds and manage the resources of the Foundation.

Recipients for the 2013 to 2014 school year are: 

Dallas: Tina Barnett, Leslie Classen, Katelyn Hilker, Serena Lairson, Mary McGuire, Eric Pfau, and Miki Todosov

Independence: Kirsten Fertig

Monmouth: Jordan Huffman, Mary Pflaum, and Sarah Solvedt

Salem: Kristen Connolly, Alika Masei, Eni Nako, Karina Porter, and Krista Studebaker

Sheridan: Amanda Crowe

This is the sixth year that the West Valley Hospital Foundation has awarded scholarships.

This year’s scholarship awards were funded by the proceeds from the Foundation’s 2012 Moonlight & Vines Gala.

The 2013 Moonlight & Vines Gala will be held Friday, August 23 at the Nesmith Readiness Center in Dallas.
