The West Valley Hospital Foundation announces that 15 students in medical or medically related fields will be receiving scholarships for the 2009–2010 school year.

A total of $20,000 in scholarships was awarded to area residents pursuing degrees in nursing, physical therapy and other medically related programs.

The Foundation is a charitable organization that supports medical and medically related projects at West Valley Hospital. Its 15 member Board of Directors helps raise funds and manage the resources of the foundation.

Recipients for the 2009-2010 school year are:
Dallas: Lisa Brock, Melody Burke, McKenzie Dalke, Kendra Fresh, Katelyn Hilker, Krystle Miller, Darcie Russie and Chelsea Wiens
Falls City: Walter Dawson
Independence: Katie Muncrief
McMinnville: Bethany Dobie
Monmouth: Matt McCrary, Michelle Pulliam and Scott Shane
West Salem: Rebecca Hibner

This is the second year the Foundation has awarded scholarships.

We’re excited to be able to designate unrestricted funds from the West Valley Hospital Foundation to help students further their education, and some day be a part of the health care workforce here in Dallas,” said Becky Jacroux, foundation board member, and scholarship committee chair.
