Effective Wednesday, July 15, Governor Kate Brown expanded mask requirements to include wearing face coverings while outdoors when six-feet of distance cannot be maintained between people of different households. Additionally, Oregon now has a ban on indoor social gatherings of more than 10 people. The reason for these additional measures is because of the alarming increase in the number of COVID-19 infections, both nationally and locally.
As a hospital and health system, it is our responsibility to model our commitment to safety by wearing a mask at all times on campus, indoors or out. Additionally, we will now require employees to wear hospital grade masks – cloth masks are no longer acceptable on campus. That includes walking to and from your car We encourage you to pick up a clean mask on your way out the door so you are prepared for the next day.
