9:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday - Thursday
9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday
10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Saturday

Location and Directions

The CHEC is located on the first floor of building D on the Salem Hospital campus. [Get directions]

Parking

Vistors coming to the CHEC for classes and support groups can park in visitor parking under Building A after 4 p.m.

Vistors coming during normal business hours can use the parking structure.

Vistors can also use the drop off area to drop off someone who cannot walk from one of the parking areas.

About our center

The Community Health Education Center (CHEC) informs and empowers patients, families, community members and hospital staff by providing accurate health information and connecting them to appropriate hospital and community services and programs.

The Salem Hospital Foundation raised 4.1 million to create the Community Health Education Center (CHEC). Over 1,200 Foundation partners, neighbors and friends made gifts that helped turn the dream of the CHEC into a reality.

Connect

The CHEC staff of trained health professionals, personally greet every CHEC visitor. Staff is here to provide health information and connect people with classes, events, hospital services, support groups and community resources.

Inform

The CHEC health professionals individualize your health education experience. Our staff will help you find the information that you need to manage or learn more about an illness or to just stay healthy and well.

Empower

The CHEC will empower you to take an informed, active role in your healthcare by providing the tools necessary to help you take charge of your wellness or to manage a chronic condition.
