Tamara began her medical career working in a small community hospital's Family Birth Unit as an RN. After five years, she then received her MS in nursing and post master's certificate in Women's Health from the University of Cincinnati. Prior to joining Salem Health, she practiced for five years providing full scope midwifery and women's health nurse practitioner care to women of all ages in McMinnville, Oregon. She feels her professional relationship with patients is that of a mutual partnership. She enjoys working with a diverse population and understands the integration between physical, emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual health. Promoting the art of midwifery by educating women on the normal prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum course is her passion. When she is not caring for women, she enjoys reading, cooking, scuba diving, riding her motorcycle, camping, gardening, caring for her alpacas, rabbits and chickens, and spending time with her family. Future interests include raising bees for honey and spinning and weaving fiber from her alpacas.
