Salem Hospital Foundation appoints new board members

Dr. Raghu Kamineni and Carl Visintainer and have joined the Salem Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.

The Foundation is a charitable organization that supports medical and medically related projects for Salem Hospital. Its volunteer directors help raise, manage and distribute Foundation funds according to donor wishes.

Dr. Kamineni is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He is a cardiologist with Salem Heart Center, and a member of the Heart and Vascular Institute at Salem Hospital. Carl Visintainer, JD, worked for over 30 years at State Farm Insurance. He was also a small claims court mediator in Marion County Circuit Court, and an adjunct professor at Chemeketa Community College. He served as the chair of the Oregon Governmental Standards and Practices Commission.

Officers are: Chair Kathy Gordon, Vice Chair Robert Ponec, M.D., and Secretary/Treasurer Larry Goodreau. Other board members are Mari Bailey, Garth Brandaw, Alex Casebeer, Mike Delk, Eric Fiskum, Barbara Furer, Jim Griggs, Barbara Halsey, and Bud Pierce, M.D.

This year the Foundation granted over $1 million dollars for various projects including scholarships for students pursuing careers in the medical field, patient assistance and hospital equipment.
