Jan Buffa, Ph.D, Paul Gehlar, Jennifer Neahring, M.D., and Kelly Yunker have joined the Salem Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.

Jan Buffa is the CEO of the Mid Valley Independent Physicians Association. She is involved with the Coalition for Healthy Oregonians, and the Foundation for Medical Excellence. Paul Gehlar is the President of Oregon Fruit Products. Jennifer Neahring, M.D., is a Nephrologist with Kidney Care Physicians, and is a member of the Salem Hospital Board of Trustees. Kelly Yunker is the President and owner of Power Equipment Systems, and is involved with the Boys and Girls Aid Society.

Other board members include Chair Bud Pierce, M.D., Vice-Chair John Ross, M.D., Secretary-Treasurer Kris Norton., Tim Abrahamson, Mari Bailey, Vicki Berger, Mike Garcia, Jim Griggs, William Hansen, Kenneth Sherman, Jr., and John Wood, M.D.

Last year the Foundation granted over $260,000 to various projects including providing scholarships to students pursuing careers in the medical field, purchasing equipment including a RetCam used to screen premature infants for a variety of eye diseases, and providing assistance to diabetic and cancer patients in need.
